Third entry of today

This entry is all about today. I went out for my manicure and pedicure session today, and took this photo along the way.

I love the trees and the beautiful sky. After watching a TV show on channel 8 last night which kept discussing about the population white paper, talking about how in future buildings will be over 50-storey high to accommodate the increasing population of locals and otherwise... i shuddered at the thought that in future, my kids (hopefully I'll give my little precious a sibling but seriously, the baby bonus does not compensate for the stress that both parents and children have to go through living in this highly competitive society) and their kids may not be able to see much of the beautiful sky on the ground, as 70-storey high flats will be built front to front, back to back, side to side to accommodate everyone... that's if the island haven't sink and they live to see that day... I really hope the lovely trees and the beautiful won't go. But I know if more flats need to be build to accommodate the increasing population, it is inevitable, and I feel really sad deep down inside. Why has Singapore become like this? Life used to be so much happier in the past. Taking the MRT was comfy, people were gracious, and it wasn't so stressful. What happened? I love the Singapore when I was younger, I definitely dislike the Singapore now. Like a friend mentioned in his Facebook: "The thing is, land is scare and resource limited. People stressed and make less baby. Then u get more immigrants, making land more scare, resource more limited, people more stressed, and lesser babies... How does it work exactly?" Exactly. And his friend commented, "maybe the KPI for ministers should be linked to Gross National Happiness Index rather than GDP..." Well, I am not in any position to set the KPI for anyone at all, but I must say, I want happiness more than anything else. Of course, that's not all of the discussion. In fact many friends have been commenting on this issue and we've all been in heated discussion together on Facebook. But I guess not every comment is suitable for publishing here in public, and if I really do copy all of them here, this entry will just go on and on. Oh well. Why is it that we like to complain? Because we can only complain as everything's so not within our control. We are mere commoners.

My lunch above... nothing fantastic. Was at the vegetarian stall at Punggol Plaza's Koufu. The stall which, well, sells nothing fantastic. I'm usually fussy about my veggies and the veggies there are not nice, so I did not order any veggies. Ordered tofu, yam roll and mock fish, which is too salty. Cost me $4.30... the vegetarian stalls at Rivervale Mall and Sengkang Sculpture Park's Koufu are so much better, with greater variety of food, yummier stuff and more reasonably priced too.

My pedicure, before and after.

My manicure, before and after. Remember my broken nail

Yesterday I broke my nail when washing baby's bath tub and it was utterly painful to deal with the pain and bathe baby and do the chores and especially awkward when shampooing my hair. Today my manicurist did a good job in covering it up with a tip and sparkling gelish colour. Haha~ Now my nails are all ready for Chinese new year!!

Bought these stuff after my manicure and pedicure session, and then went home.

Edamame, super vegetarian balls, baiye tofu, silky tofu, potato, carrot, Meiji fresh milk, Meiji yoghurt, strawberry yoghurt drink, baked almonds and maple syrup. Preparing to steam tofu and cook ABC soup. Wanted to get maple syrup because I can use it to replace sugar when making tamagoyaki. And munching on nuts increase my milk supply, so bought the baked almonds to boost my nursing power~!

Spent some time hanging out with my little precious

Then it's time to cook! Threw in some of the cherry tomatoes too. Heh~

Used MIL's 2-in-1 pot that can be used for cooking in the pot plus steaming on the top layer. Helps to save gas as MIL claims gas is getting more and more expensive!

I already added the baiye tofu last but they still expanded so much in the soup!

ABC soup with vegetarian balls, steamed tofu with fresh mushrooms and topped with shredded seaweed, edamame and fresh cherry tomatoes, plus Meiji yogurt for dessert. Itadakimasu!!

Second entry of today

My breakfast on Monday... just my last mouthful of it. XD Egg and cheese and wholemeal bread. And yes my nails need to be trimmed!

Lunch, on dunno which day... can't remember. Instant noodles with some mock stuff and the last of those vegetarian golden green dumplings, seen also in the previous entry.

Oh, I had to get more clothes for my little precious as she's growing out of her clothes real fast! But I guess all babies are like that, right?

Breakfast on one of the past few days lol... I really can't remember... but I had the same breakfast for a few days - wholemeal bread with lots of fresh lettuce and a slice of cheese. MIL was at home so I'm not cooking. She's walking pass in the background and that wall right in front is decorated with my baby's photos, all taken before her full month celebration. =)

MIL went to the vegetarian stall in Sengkang which we both fell in love with, and bought dinner for us. I had this fish chop with rice. There're 2 slices of fried mock fish and lots of ingredients... definitely worth every cent! In fact this was only $3.50 (and add $0.20 for the container), very cheap compared to the vegetarian stall at Punggol Plaza.

Yesterday morning... I broke my nail while washing baby's bath tub and preparing for her bathe. OUCH! *sobs* That really hurt a lot!! Yes I know my nails need trimming, but my manicure appointment was today! I was waiting for my appointment and it was rather unfortunate that my nail broke the day before. T_T

And guess what? 祸不单行啊!=( I spilt my milk after pumping... my precious precious liquid gold.

Anyway looking on the bright side, my little precious has been nice and sweet and cute, just like any other days! Fresh and happy after her bath, in her new romper. =)

I brought baby out to Rivervale Mall to meet a colleague and we had lunch at food court. There's now a vegetarian stall there. The last time I went, quite long ago, there was no vegetarian stall. I had the brown rice as I missed having brown rice and didn't go back to my parents' place last weekend.

Brown rice with curry vege, firm beancurd filled with beansprouts and shredded carrots, and "cereal prawns" made with deep fried cauliflower... I didn't know it was fried cauliflower and had a pleasant surprise when I bit into it. I love it and haven't had fried cauliflower for a long time!

My colleague treated me dessert. Love this gingko, barley and beancurd skin dessert! :D

We went for a short walk in Daiso as I had another "appointment" to rush to.

Was in a hurry so just grabbed 5 items from the kitchen ware region. One sandwich maker, one heart-shaped pancake ring for frying heart-shaped egg, a pack of 4 small containers for baby food, a packet of yummy snack, and a tamagoyaki pan which is right at the bottom.

My other "appointment" is to collect these! Ordered the Tell Me Why DVDs set and gotten 10 bilingual fairy tale story books for free! What a deal, I'm so not gonna miss it! So I went to the flat near Rivervale Mall to collect the items. :D I love the show so much, I still can sing the Mandarin theme song of Tell Me Why! 为什么? 为什么? 为什么?! XD

I like the vegetarian food at the stall so I went back to grab my dinner before going home. Brown rice with veggies, beancurd and brinjal =) Both my lunch and dinner cost $3.30 each, very reasonable price. :D

After we got home, baby had a short nap. Nowadays she loves to turn to her side while sleeping. In fact, yesterday morning she flipped for the first time in her sleep when she was lying on her side. Woke up crying on her front... but she never flipped when she's awake. Haha.

At night after baby has finally fallen asleep, I tried making tamagoyaki for the third time, with the new tamagoyaki pan.

Besides the fact that the egg white and egg yolk weren't mixed properly, it was pretty successful! :D

First entry of today

I've been busy with spring cleaning and crazy over Candy Crush Saga (some additive Facebook game) over the pass few days but well... am still busy with cleaning up and turning down the heat in candy crushing as the levels get more and more maddening. I'll be updating this blog with 3 entries today (yes I planned my entries) so stay tuned! ^^

And so I mentioned about a steamboat dinner gathering with the ladies at Tian's place in the previous entry. Here's a picture documentary... enjoy!

I prepared a plate of mock stuff for myself

Yum.

This photo and all of the above pics are all taken by my long-forgotten S95... finally digged it out to use!
My iPhone 4S actually can take pretty nice pics too, that's why I've not been using the camera for so long :p

I bought a lot of tomatoes for the steamboat so I brought some home and used them for brunch the next morning. =)

Getting the ingredients ready

I wanted to make tomato and cheese omelette but that's one egg and a lot of tomatoes lol

Added cheese... yum!

And taadaa~ My breakfast!

Actually that was arranged for photo-taking purpose, I ate it like that. Haha!

Steamed these for an afternoon tea break on the same day =) Vegetarian golden green dumplings and vegetarian mini char siew buns.
