Last weekend of CNY

Didn't do much this weekend as hubby's not in town and there wasn't any planned activities. No steamboat, no yusheng and no last round of CNY visitings... in fact, the entire Saturday was spent lazing around with baby at home.

MIL made super rich red bean soup dessert. With 百合 and 莲子~

Read some books to my little darling in the morning and then she's playing with her clothbook and laugh-a-lot carebear and chattering away... She seems to have recovered although I'm still monitoring the symptoms... Be well and stay well always, my precious little bubsie!

Baby fell asleep with her laugh-a-lot carebear~

Bought this from NTUC the other day, and gonna try air-frying them!

Lunch for me. MIL - the more happening one at home - made pots of her 'famous' dry noodles (actually it's just instant mi goreng!) and red bean soup dessert for a potluck party with her friends... and she went out alone pushing her marketing trolley filled with lots of food that she cooked. I fried the smiley potatoes in the air fryer and added a dash of chilli on the side. It's a simple and good lunch!

Oh how time flies! February will be ending soon and that means the day I'm heading back to work is getting nearer and nearer... will dread not being able to hang out with baby 24/7! Oh, how I love you, my little precious!!

MIL cooked dinner using my Happycall pan. Broccoli with taupok and tofu, and fried eggs.

And then it's Sunday... I was out most of Sunday.

Breakfast... one-week-old apple strudel!

And the packaging says "best consume within the same day", indicating that I'm not eating the best apple strudel today. *LOL*

Went out in the late morning with baby to meet a friend, Char, for lunch. This was taken when I was queueing to pay for something. Bought 2 items, a cute Rilakkuma notebook for Char (which I dunno if it'll ever come in useful, but it's so cute I couldn't help it!) and a cutlery set for myself. *AGAIN*

While waiting to grab a seat in Xin Wang HK Cafe. Gah, I'm too lazy to shift the watermark around while adding it using the PhotoMarkr app in my iPhone. XD Quite like it in the same spot for every photo... haha~

Sweet Char, author of her beauty and lifestyle blog A Beauty Affair, came with her handsome little prince and we had a great lunch, two mummies and two babies together! :D

The younger duo.

Getting to know each other.

My lunch - iced home made barley drink and mushroom baked rice.

Char's lunch - iced milk tea and noodles.

Before lunch, I went to Kiddy Palace and bought this cleaner to clean baby's high chair, play yard and toys. Dear Char's very sweet to help me buy a pack of Whoopee diapers during her last JB trip and we met so she could pass my pack to me... haven't tried it before and keen to try it as I heard it's cheap and good!

After lunch, I headed down to meet my parents and brother and his gorgeous wife-to-be~ My little darling fell asleep on the train.

We had a refreshing one-buck drink to quench our thirst...

Indulging at my parents' place with baby bro and his wife-to-be~

Dinner! My mummy cooked snow peas in pods, xiao bai cai, shredded carrot in omelette and corn soup with lots of mock balls and stuff... to go with brown rice, our usual staple, and yummy yummy!!

This was the cutlery set I bought for myself. I must be mad... this must be my third set... as I already have 2 sets in the staffroom, and I'm intending to bring this to school too, once I go back to work. I'm mad! XD But it's cute, normal size (the other two sets are small! baby-size!!) and at half price!! :D

The weekdays

I guess it's a bit overwhelming to update my blog every single day, so I'm gonna post once for the weekdays and once for the weekends, which makes it around twice a week if I were to keep up with blogging. And this was a week with many outings for baby and me! So yup, this is yet another photo-intensive entry!!

Monday - A trip to Crystal's place and guacamole tea break

On Monday, I headed down to Crystal's place... and it's like visiting Marine World~ *LOL* Look at that big aquarium, and it's not the only aquarium in her place!

Big fishes and tiny baby...

Baby's first experience in a Bumbo seat!

My baby and Crystal's second baby.

I brought ingredients and made guacamole! :D

Post-Valentine's days

Be warned, this is a super duper uber photo-intensive entry!

Met my dear cuzzie for lunch on 15 February - our post-Valentine's day date! We went to Swenson's for lunch and then hopped over to Daiso for more shopping! :D

Our lunch... it's cousin's treat! ^^

Love her Hard Rock Hello Kitty tee!

Baby fell asleep lying next to me on the cushion seat.

My Daiso loots for my new projects! :D

For bento making!

For a DIY project for baby (here's the idea)

For more DIY projects for baby~

My little sewing kit ^^

I had wanted to buy the storage pots from Kiddy Palace but in the end I didn't. I bought the 4 little containers on another trip to Daiso, and I checked that the material - polyproplene - does not contain BPA, so I guess they should be safe for storing the portions of baby's food?

I love the words on the lid - Heart Wear.

Baby's still having avocado on her second solid food day.

And for dinner on 15 February, it was a post-Valentine's day dinner with hubby at Sakae sushi. ^^

And I bought these from Metro... 20% off! Too cute and I'm a sucker for dental hygiene, so couldn't help it... XD

I embark on my first project on 16 February. I took one of baby's hanky that has gone outta shape, and with a needle, matching yellow thread, a short elastic band and one morning... I made...

Sewing sewing away...

Valentine's Day 2013

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! :D

My lovely Valentine's day morning: woke up earlier to make V-day breakfast for hubby to bring to work, then latched baby back to sleep and lay right next to her I'm bed, and watched her woke up - looked around for me, smiled at me and streeeetched. So cute, feel so full of love just lying there watching her. It'll be a wonderful day!! ♥

But on this wonderful day, I had to go to school for a while to do my "declaration". Sigh, I dunno why I had to do stuff when I'm on no-pay leave. Hello, I'm not paid a single cent to check email! I'm not paid a single cent to fill in forms! Why? Why still want to come bother me huh? T_T And because my VPN doesn't work - deactivated because I'm on no-pay leave *DUH* - so I had to go back to school to get it done. Gaaaaaahh!

After the trip made specially down to school, I was hungry and wanted to eat lunch at the Koufu in Sengkang with nice vegetarian food... the vegetarian stall which I like and blogged about in some of previous entries.

That's the Koufu foodcourt... finally took a pic of it. And below is my lunch. It doesn't look nice with a lack of colour variety... but it was good!

Yam rice with curry veggies, braised beancurd skin and the fried stuff was a mixture of fried cauliflower and fried broccoli. Not bad, and cost me $3.60 for the huge plate.

Went to get some stuff before heading home... these are what I bought today! Grundig hand blender, a bamboo mat for rolling maki sushi (in the mood for making sushi these days), a sketchbook and colour pencils (for planning my new projects - I have so many in mind - and I can start drawing in front of baby and hopefully she'll love drawing too!), a baby food recipe book in Chinese (so that I can share it with my mum and MIL), a hot pink Tommee Tippee bib, sweet potatoes, cherry tomatoes and two avocados.

Preparing to start baby on solid! But in the end I didn't use the booster seat which was a gift we received on baby's full month celebration, because it was all moldy inside. >< We haven't bought a high chair for baby! Luckily hubby bought this:

Hello baby, are you ready for your first solid food?

No no, baby! That's not your first solid food, so stop eating the card!! XD

This was shot before I started feeding her... she was crying because I snatched the card away from her... *lol* Poor baby, but don't worry, you'll be getting real food!!

And finally... oooo yum! She enjoyed her avocado treat!!

"Mummy, can I have more please?" And she grabbed the spoon... it was a tug o' war with the spoon after shooting this photo above. LOL! But she ate and ate and I lost count of how many times I fed her...

I made a little open sandwich with the rest of the slice of avocado (I used 1/4 of the avocado and kept the rest in the freezer) and had it for my tea break. It was yum!! :D

And guess what? Our Valentine's day dinner was a treat from MIL! It was a sumptuous spread at Canton Paradise, with hubby, baby, parents-in-law, sister-in-law and her family. There were 10 of us! :D Luckily PILs and I, along with baby, hopped by earlier and gotten ourselves a table. When I was returning from the nursing room, the long queues snaking around outside the other restaurants (and decorated with expensive bouquets of flowers) scared me! I would be so traumatized to have to stand in one of those outrageous queues just to get dinner. But wait, haven't I been through that? Sigh, guess it's a sign that I'm getting older. Haha...

Hope you had a wonderful Valentine's day too! ^^
